Movement through every stage of life
Born and raised in the Sonoran desert, Caprice has always been a natural mover. A classically trained dancer, she has performed nationally and internationally with Karin Stevens Dance, Mari Meade Dance Collective, Alba Danza Internationale, Ballet Arizona, and Desert Dance Theatre. She moved to Seattle, WA and graduated cum laude from Cornish College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance.
After sustaining a severe back injury in 2006, Caprice became a part of the Seattle yoga community. She received her 200-hour Certification from Catherine Munro of YogaWorks in 2008. Following her initial teacher training, Caprice has taught vinyasa for studios, gyms, businesses, and individuals throughout Seattle and New York. She developed the children's yoga programs for the Stroum Jewish Community Center, PRO Sports Club, Sacred Sounds Yoga and for private preschools. Additionally, in preparation for teaching children in inclusive classrooms, Caprice completed training with Craig Hanauer of Every Kid's Yoga.
Following the birth of her nephew in 2010, Caprice became fascinated with the biology of pregnancy and wanted a way to support women in the journey into motherhood. She studied with Debra Flashenberg and Nikita Maxwell at the Prenatal Yoga Center, and now co-leads PYC's teacher trainings. In search of more resources to serve her prenatal students, Caprice became a DONA trained birth doula in early 2014. She has continued her studies with Leslie Howard, completing certification for Pelvic Floor Yoga. Additionally, Caprice is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator.
Caprice is thrilled to help her students and clients reach their goals, whatever they may be: the ability to touch their toes, finding a sense of inner calm or the tools to deal with high-stress environments, or birthing on a woman's own terms.
She is grateful for the opportunity to witness your miracles.
